A perspective on success

Some extracts from a Brian Tracy publication.

#1 – Get Serious. Make a decision to go all the way to the top. Up to now youve thought about it. Up to now, its passed your mind. Many of you made the decision, and youve made up your mind to go all the way to the top, and your lives have taken off. Its the most extraordinary thing. Your life is one, like in the shadow going up the dark side of the hill until the moment you decide that By gum, Im gong to be the best at what I do. Im going to be in the top 10 percent. And suddenly you rose into the sunshine, and your life is forever after different – wonderful. Get serious. Dont fool around anymore.

#2 – Identify Your Limiting Step to Sales Success. Whats your limiting step? Whats the one skill area thats holding you back? Whats the skill? Whats the quality? Whats the action? Ask other people. Find out what you need to become good at. Sometimes it may be only one skill. If you became really, really good on the telephone, you could maybe double your prospecting effectiveness and double your sales. If you became very, very good at getting the order at the end from qualified prospects, you could double your sales. If you became very, very good at managing your time to really, really manage your time well, you may be able to double your face time and double your income. Find out whats holding you back. What is the critical limiting step thats determining your success today?

#3 – Get Around the Right People. Who are the right people? The right people are the people in this room. Get around winners. Get around positive people. Get around people with goals and plans, people who are going somewhere with their lives and have high aspirations. Get around eagles. As Zig Ziglar says, You cant scratch with the turkeys if you want to fly with the eagles. And get away from negative people. Get away from toxic people that complain and whine and moan all the time. Who needs them? Life is too short.

#4 – Take Excellent Care of Your Health. Take excellent care of your physical health. That means good diet, good exercise. Everybody knows they should eat better foods, get regular exercise and especially lots of rest. Thats very important. If youre going to work hard 5 days a week, go to bed early 5 days a week. Get a good nights sleep. Be fully rested, and tonight get really rested. You dont have to watch TV half the night.

#5 – Positive Visualization. See yourself as the very best in your field. Remember, all improvement in your life begins with an improvement in your mental pictures. Visualize yourself, see yourself as the best continually. You are the best. Isnt that right? So therefore, see yourself as the best.

#6 – Positive Self-Talk. Talk to yourself positively all the time. Control your inner dialogue. And what do you say to yourself? Say, Im the best. Say it. Say Im the best. I like myself. I can do it. I love my work. Yes, thats how you talk to yourself. And the more you say it to yourselfsomeone may say, Well, what if you say those things to yourself and you dont believe them. Isnt that lying to yourself? No, thats not lying to yourself. Its telling the truth in advance. Because it doesnt matter where youre coming from – all that matters is where youre going. Talk to yourself the way you want to be, not the way you just happen to be at this moment. Remember, you may have gotten where you are today largely by accident. But where youre going in the future is purely by design.

#7 – Positive Action. Get going. Move fast. Develop a sense of urgency. A sense of urgency is the one thing that you can develop that will separate you from everyone else in your field. Develop a bias for action. When you get a good idea, do it now. Only 2% of people in our society have a bias for action. And if youre already in the top 10%, you can move yourself in the top 2% by resolving that whenever you have an idea or something, do it now. And the faster you move, the better you get. And the better you get, the more you like yourself. And the more you like yourself, the higher your self-esteem is. And the higher your self-esteem is, the greater your self-discipline. And the more you persist, then you ultimately become unstoppable.

Here's an inspiring article for your success in this business:

You may have heard of Bill Britt, one of the most successful distributors in Amway. Some years ago, 20/20 did a feature story on Amway. They spent 19 minutes interviewing whiners and complainers — several distributors who had failed and showed the garages full of products they couldn't sell.

During the last minute of the show, Mr. Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home. He was asked, "Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What's your secret?"

He replied, "There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said, 'No.' and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire."

Like Mark Yarnell (who made millions with NuSkin), Bill worked through the numbers.

Like we always say – ANY business is a numberss game, plain and simple! Remember that & be persistent & you WILL succeed.

Stack the odds in your favor, play the numbers and keep a steady flow of NEW business to your website.

Get with your upline to find out what lead sources they are using to explode their business.

~ THINKING ~
by Walter D. Wintle

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win but you think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out of the world we find
Sucess begins with a fellow's will -
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you're outclassed, you are.
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To a stronger or faster man;
But sooner or later the man who wins,
Is the one who THINKS he can.

I know after reading it It made me really step back and think and has helped me come even more motivated than ever. It's always the correct time to think about where you have been and where you are going. And then work out how you will get there. How much money would you like to earn? What would you do with some extra income etc

10 KEYS TO UNLOCKING YOUR FUTURE.

1. We have to put ourself together first, to KNOW ourself – strengths and limitations – before we know what we want.

2. Believe you can do it.

3. Believe that as one person, what you do will make a difference.

4. When you dare to dream, you make it all possible. Cease to dwell on negative things. Know that, "Miracles begin to happen when we pay as much attention to our dreams as we do to our nightmares."

5. Full commitment regardless of setback.

6. Persistence in adversity. No one said it would be easy, but it will be well worth it.

7. Never give up when things seeem insurmountable. Creativity and a new approach can change a problem into a goldmine.

8. Every great achievement and invention was once impossible until someone made a goal and to make it a reality.

9. "We become what we think about." (Ralph Waldo Emerson) So be careful what you think!

10. If you think it, you can bring it into being with enough thought and determination. In 1949, a large group of American Congressmen refused to accept even the thought of man being able to go to the moon when it was first suggested. One of them warned, "That is flying in the face of God. It can never be done." Twenty years later, 20 July 1969, it became a reality.

What impossible thought, action, dream or desire will YOU be bringing to life during 2007?

YOU NOW HAVE YOUR KEYS…GO UNLOCK THE FUTURE!

Myths and misunderstandings of MLM

Its pyramid selling

In response to the statement, suggested reply: – Whats pyramid selling? and see what answer you get. What is most likely is a very vague and uninformed statement bearing no relationship to the scheme you are part of or referring to. To that you would confidently be able to answer, Well this isnt pyramid selling.

Is there any large business or organisation that does not have a pyramid structure? No. In every large organisation or business there will be a big chief; several executives who help develop the large profitable organisation or business and numerous levels of employees.

The basic concept behind pyramid selling is this: entry fees of large sums of money were demanded from the prospective participants in some schemes, with promises of recouping this and profiting further by the introduction of more participants. Before seeking any orders from customers, participants were encouraged to purchase stock of goods for distribution to future participants, the larger the quantity, the larger the discount and the greater the profit when sold on to the new recruits.

The corruption of an otherwise sound marketing concept was the encouragement to attempt a short cut to success an impossibility in any proper business. The participant became known as the front end loading. Hard luck on anyone who detached themselves for a moment from the excitement of promises of future wealth and decided that it was not such a good idea after all. The only way they were going to rid themselves of the stock and recoup their initial investment was to recruit further people and/ or try to sell their products as best they could. Possible, yes, but it required a certain ruthlessness to perpetuate a trading scheme which you had already decided was suspect.

In an excited state, many people parted with significant sums, even remortgaging their homes, to join schemes and purchase goods. The reality later dawning that recruiting people into anything is not easy, especially if you no longer believe in the cause.

Parliament finally stepped in and passed regulations governing all multi level marketing schemes in 1973.

Back to the myth, bear in mind that where ever you go, there are some people that are not open minded enough to be proved wrong. Move on.

It'll saturate
Oxford Encyclopaedia Dictionary definition Saturation point that beyond which no more can be absorbed or accepted. So saturation would mean there is no one else around to sponsor or whom to sell products to. Can this actually happen?

A simple piece of market research would prove that saturation is not feasible. If you were to ask a hundred people at random if they know anything about multi level marketing, it is most likely that eighty of them will not even have heard of it, and another ten will think they know about it but not understand it properly. Eighty percent of those questioned will be seeing something totally new if you present the MLM opportunity to them.

How would you tell if saturation had occurred any way? When there is not one person left in the town/county/country/world who is not interested in increasing their income? When there is nobody who would be interested in becoming a customer? You might as well just say J S Sainsbury shouldnt bother opening any more stores because everybody buys food from somewhere already, so where are the new customers going to come from.

Accept for a moment then that saturation hasnt happened yet (which you must agree is true) but that it will in future. When will it occur? In five years? In ten? Fifteen years? Whichever time period you chose, you have ample time to build a successful MLM business to whatever level you desire.

There are always a certain percentage of people who will be willing to participate in a specific activity. Your task in MLM is to find some of that percentage who are looking for an opportunity like this

You have to be in at the start to make any money
You will earn what you are worth.

If those who get in first get a better deal than those who get in later, there must come a point where it is not a good deal any more. If it is not a good deal anymore, no one else will join and the whole thing will begin to collapse. This bears no relation to what is happening in MLM today.
It is completely logical and acceptable that Fred, who started his business two years ago, will be earning more than Harry, who has only just begun. It also follows that in another two years, providing he works as hard as Fred, Harry will be earning a comparable sum to what Fred was earning two years before. But by now Fred has had another two years to build his business further, so Harry will not have caught up with him on income level. As long as Fred and Harry both put the same effort into their business, Fred will always make more than Harry. However, they can both say X years gave them Y income

With a well thought out compensation plan, you really do earn in direct proportion to your efforts. Nobody can get in at the beginning and expect to become wealthy without putting in some requisite effort.

Youll lose all your friends

When people say things like this, they mean that someone they knew (or a friend of a friend) got into MLM and became obsessed with it to the exclusion of everything else. They became a bore and a nuisance because everybody knew what was coming when they met them insistence on them coming into the business or becoming a customer. The trouble with MLM is that it is so exciting some people cannot keep it into perspective, and they let it take over their life, even if only temporarily. Certainly, if you are to become very successful in MLM, you must be single minded to an extent, but you must also give other people the amount of attention they deserve; that is, attention to them as a person and not a prospect or a customer. Not everybody is going to feel the same way as you about the business, and if you disregard the views of others, they will son disregard you. If you are to enjoy your success to the fullest you need to have balance in your life, a proper proportion of each constituent, and not overdo any part to the detriment of other important parts. This way you wont lose friends.

As your MLM business grows you will grow as a person. You will learn to become a person to whom people are attracted, because it will profit you and because it is enjoyable. It is a fact of life that when a person develops he or she inevitably grows away from people who are not developing further, and this can include friends. This is not so much a case of losing friends but moving forward to newer ones more suited to developing your personality.

Its door to door!

Well, so what if it is? There are very few companies who advocate selling door to door, as the method conjures up an unfavourable image of the brush salesman with his foot in the door.

Coleman Orr, a very successful MLM distributor from the USA responds by saying
Door to door is when you get up in the morning and go through the bathroom door, you brush your teeth and go through the kitchen door, eat breakfast and then open the car door, get in, slam, through the traffic, swear at all the other drivers, park at the factory, through the factory door where the buzzer tells you what to do all day, beep, through the canteen door, idle chatter, idle chatter, beep, back through the canteen door, work, work, beep, time to go home, through the factory door, open the car door, through the rush hour, swear at the other drivers, get home, open the fridge door, get a beer, go through the dining room door, eat dinner, go through the tv room door, fall asleep on the couch, get up, go through the bathroom door, get washed, brush you teeth,, go through the bedroom door, go to sleep, get up in the morning and do it all over again. Thats door to door and I dont do that!
